Top 5 Upcoming Anime Series/Movies this Spring

The winter anime season has been interesting and definitely been entertaining producing shows such as Dororo, The Promised Neverland, The Rising of the Shield Hero and my personal favorite My Room mate is a cat (I swear I’ll get to watching Mob Psycho 100 season 1 and 2 when I feel motivated to watch it). Now that the winter season is ending apart from a few shows, a wave of new anime series, movies and sequels are about to come crashing down on all of us weebs. So here’s the 5 anime series/movies that I’m looking forward to seeing this season.

Spoiler Alert: This is my list so deal with it.

Number 5 – Diamond no Ace Act 2 Release Date: April 2

I can’t help myself when it comes to Sports anime genre it is so cheesy, predictable and the story lines are all so repetitive yet here I am gearing myself up for Diamond no Ace Act 2. I really enjoyed the first two season and just looking forward to seeing the Seido High Baseball team go to the Koshien (It’s like the March Madness but for Baseball in Japan).

Number 4 – Fairy Gone Release Date: April 8

I’m going to be honest I know nothing about this anime so far. I saw the trailer being recommended to me on Youtube and I was intrigued by it. All I know is that this is being produced by Toho Animation(they’ve helped produce My Hero Academia, Kekkai Sensen and Haikyuu so I can trust them) and being animated by P.A Works so I’m pretty much just going to walk into this blind and just trust my gut feeling.

I’ll be doing my 3 episode rule where if it hasn’t peaked my interest after 3 episodes then I guess I will be dropping this series.

Number 3 – One Punch Man Season 2 Release Date: April 2

About freaking time.

Number 2 – Shingeki no Kyojin 3 Part 2 (Attack on Titan 3 Part 2) Release Date: April 29

As Frankie would say if Levi and Erwin dies in this season then I guess we won’t be watching this series anymore.

I’m serious.

I love this series and in all honesty I think it deserves the hype it gets every time a new season comes out. Before the first season even came out for this anime, it was already getting so much attention and I remember going to MCM London that year and seeing so many people cosplay as characters from the show. After that day I kind of understood that this show has brought so much attention to a genre of entertainment that people used to just ignore.

Honorable Mentions Bungou Stray Dogs Season 3 – personally I find this show mediocre. But it’s exciting enough that I can watch it without falling asleep (I’m looking at you Toara Majutsu no Index).
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin – Eve of the Red Comit – I love Gundam but not enough to re-watch this story line over and over again.

Number 1 – Promare Release Date: May 2019

From the director of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Kill La Kill, Hiroyuki Imaishi is about to release my most anticipated anime movie of 2019 so far. Promare.

Toho animation and Studio Trigger is either about to make an instant classic or a total flop for this year with Promare. The animation style for this movie is so vibrant and colourful that it’s so pleasant to look at, with a mix of CG and hand drawn animation which can be a hit or miss(I guess they never miss…..sorry I had to do it) but I can’t help myself, I’m just too damn excited for this movie.

The story is revolving around Galo Thymos( who looks exactly like Kamina) who is a new recruit at Burning Rescue Fire Deparment who are facing off against Burnish
a group of mutants who are able to control and wield flames, and cause the fire disaster on Earth.

All I have left to say is that this movie better come out in the cinemas in the UK or I will cause a one man riot or just right a very long sweaty illogical complaint on one of the cinemas near by.

Fritz( The Burning Rescue Fire Department will need to battle me soon when my mixtape comes out cause its fire)
